Indiana

May 24th, 2007 · 2 Comments

So, I got the Jon McLaughlin CD Indiana a few weeks back. It was rather exciting to see someone you went to school with on a CD at Target. I got a request from some commenter before that I should be more lyrics, so I will post the lyrics to the title song. There are many songs that I love and each time I listen to it, another one seems to stand out. Current favorites: Amelia’s Missing, Until you Got Love, and Indiana

Indiana

I’m glad I never lived nest to the water,
So I could never get used to the beach.
And I’m glad I never grew up on a mountain,
To figure out how high the world could reach.

I love the miles between me and the city,
Where I quietly imagine every street.
And I’m glad I’m only picturing the moment;
I’m glad she never fell in love with me.

For some, the world’s a treasure to discover;
Your scenery should never stay the same.
They’re trading in their dreams for explanations,
All in an attempt to entertain.

But I love the miles between me and the city,
Where I quietly imagine every street.
And I’m glad I’m only picturing the moment:
I’m glad she never fell in love with me.

The trick of love is to never let it find you.
It’s easy to get over missin’ out.
I know the “how’s” and “when’s”
But now and then, she’s all I think about.

I wonder how it feels to be famous…
But wonder is as far as I will go
‘Cause I’d probably lose myself in all the pictures
And end up being someone I don’t know.

So it’s probably best I stay in Indiana
Just dreaming of the world as it should be,
Where everyday is a battle to convince myself
That I’m glad she never fell in love with me.

Party on the Square.

May 6th, 2007 · 3 Comments

Rick and I walked down to the party on the square yesterday, I’d never been and it seemed like something to do. It probably would have been more fun if we had kids, or had gone with kids (though I’m sure those ride tickets go quick). We didn’t plan on spending money, so we didn’t really look at any of the booths set up.

I was wanting to take pictures, but felt a little hesitant just snapping pictures of random people that I don’t know. So, I took some picture of the cars that they had lined up along the street.

I have no clue what kind of cars these are or what year, but I like the reflective surfaces. One gentleman, however, noticed me taking lots of pictures and began to tell me about his car. Apparently Chevy’s used to be made of wood…didn’t know that. It was pretty neat.

So, here you go, some pictures of some cars (if you know see cars you recognize feel free to let me know what they are…though my pictures my not be the best for identifying, since I’m a fan of the extreme closeup.)
