Béla Fleck

Classical banjo! I know that many don’t see how those two things can coincide, but they do. Béla Fleck is one of the best banjo players ever. And I have his classical CD called Perpetual Motion.
I really enjoy it, and I was amazed at many of the names that I actually recognized: Joshua Bell, Chris Thile, (James) Bryan Sutton, and John Williams. I greatly enjoy many of the songs, but my favorite is probably their bluegrass version of Paganini’s Moto Perpetuo. I also really enjoy the songs with Chris Thile. What can I say? I like his style, everything Thile does is distinctive. Also, another favorite is track number six which is Chopin: Etude in C-sharp minor, mainly because it has a cello, and I absolutely love the sound of a cello. (I’d love to have a cello at my wedding…but I have to find someone who can play, lol.) If you like classical music, or you like the banjo and you wanting to expand your musical repertoire then go ahead and purchase this CD.
*end of plug. I should get paid for this kinda stuff.*

You can get paid for that kinda stuff… Just sign up for an Amazon.com Affiliates account and then … Blah blah blah..

Anyway, yeah, Fleck is awesome. I first found out about him via Chris Thile’s solo albums, and his work enjoyable. Him, Yo-Yo Ma, Mike Marshall, Mark O’Connor, Thile, and others of their style (Appalachian classical with a touch of bluegrass, or something like that) are not short of virtuosos.

Cello, you want Cello? is this a paid gig? I’ll be the manager, lol, I got Cello, let me know, my Cello player would much rather play Cello for you, than to be managed by me, lol. just as long as you don’t make him play Pachelbel’s canon, - He’s played that at soooo many weddings!

I’ve already recommended Bobby McFerin once, I listened a tape of him in cello duet. However he was actually being a mouth player. (sorry for two posts.)

well, I think I have already arranged to have cannon by two guitars. Cello would have to know how to figure out music just by hearing it, cause i only have a CD and I don’t have the sheet music to the song I want. ah well.
and, no, it’s probably not a paying gig…at least not much, I was planning to give Jason like $20 to play at me and Ricky’s wedding.

The bride could always walk down to “The Imperial March” from Star Wars.

Pete Huttlinger’s “Flowers of Edinburgh” works for me as well (a more serious idea than the SW one).

But “Canon” it shall be. I’ll introduce Jason to it on Friday, if’n I go over there.
