Tutankhamun the Pharoah of Egypt

June 12th, 2005 · No Comments

National Geographic has done an article on Tutankhamun aka King Tut.

(Interestinly, the post I just made about insulin ties in with this. Insulin and King Tut’s tomb were both discovered in 1922!)

King Tut has been one of those art historical pieces that has held the world captivated. And thanks to Dan Brown, finding the mysterious stories behind art work has become one of the most interesting topics in many people’s minds.

King Tut first received attention because, well, he was there, and no one knew it. Not only was he there, but all of his possessions that were typically taken from other tombs. (His were left probably because no one knew where he was.) And the world was amazed at the vast amount of possessions he had. However, I think it is interesting to keep in mind the fact that he was one of the lesser known/lesser liked pharoahs. Just think of the treasures that would have been in Khafre’s tomb (Khafre is the one associated with the middle great pyramid, and the Sphinx.)
